Lumsden River Park Centre
This 2600sqft building was built in the heart of the River Park Campground in Lumsden, SK in 2009. The building consists of a concession, storage, multi-purpose room, public washrooms and public showers for male and female patrons.
The building is constructed with a concrete foundation on footings due to the high water table and sandy soils. The structure is wood framed with a concrete slab on grade floor. The sue of concrete block walls in the washrooms provided durability and a long life cycle for the building.
The exterior building finishes include stucco, 30 year asphalt shingles and prefinished metal soffits, fascia and trim. Recycled 12”x12” timber posts and beams from a former project are used to construct the entrance to the Concession windows.
Constructed in the center of a heavily tree’d area this project provided challenges to the crews by limiting access to the site and use of the surrounding areas, a challenge met and successfully completed.
